IT was great to see Thurman play in the flesh wasn’t it? He was what other baseball players refer to as a “baseball player”. He was gritty, gutty and real. I remember how I felt after I heard the news…absolutely shocked. I had a similar feeling when Lennon was killed as well. I heard the news about both on 880 WCBS. Older fans,radio hosts, and media people make a big deal about him these days and deservedly so. Strange how they didn’t win anything the few years after he died . Cerrone was a nice guy BUT he was no Thurman.
