Raf, I have to agree to disagree with you. There are times when Arod hasn’t been superclutch and the fans let him have it. His off the field antics add to the pandemonium BUT if he was worth the 27 mill plus, he wouldn’t get this derision. Whereas Jeter keeps a relatively low profile, Arod seemingly wants to act in a f%^ked up fashion. ARod piles on to his on the field woes with his idiotic behavior off the field BUT they remain mutually exclusive. Why? Just because he was not Mr Clutch in the past, it didn’t give give the right to make a spectacle of himself publicly. When I say that he has been a PR nightmare, let me make this clear: that is because of his own stupidity in the public eye. Yes, the exemplar for the Yankee brand is St Derek and guess what? Afraud could learn a thing or two from him about how to go about your business outside of the ballgame.Nuff said…..

However, when they thought they were getting the greatest player of his era(Pujols is arguably that right now) and he dissapoints with not being superclutch OR not being a model citizen it sticks in their craw. quite frankly, Arod brings a lot of this mess upon himself. I don’t remember the Golden Boy Jeter trying to slap a ball out of Braid Boy Arroyo’s hands in the ALCS? That was Alex. Remember when he yelled out Ha/I got It back in Toronto, when has St Derek done anything like that?

Crank, it’s unfortunate that a lot of fans are tough on Arod. I have denigrated him for his deplorable off the field behavior but rather praised him for his work ethic nad what he brings to the day to day game. Yeah, it’s unfortunate that Yankee fans are so caught up in this Golden Boy vs Afraud argument. I think that when the Yanks win with Alex a lot of this crap will die down……until he goes to Toronto and gets into another fine mess….

As a Yankee fan ask yourself, what matters to you more? Do you care more that Alex dates a hot girl who happens to not like Jeter’s girl, or do you care more that Alex is playing on a half-healthy hip and heavily contributing to the success of this squad?

As Yankee fans, I think we all know what matters more. Appreciate Alex for his bat and glove, the team wouldn’t have been as successful without him since 2004.
