Why do I feel like Tomko is gonna pitch the game of his life tonight?

Idk, I get the opposite feeling. I feel like the Yankees are just going to show up and take care of business…like they’ve done since July. This team is on a roll.

Other than that, tonight would be a nice game to win. It would be far more appealing to look at the standings tomorrow and see 8 games up on Boston instead of 7 (with Boston being off today).

Many observers have noted the series in Atlanta when Cashman showed up in the locker room and Cervelli hit a big HR as the turning point of the season. Well, how about John Henry’s tweet about the so-called curse of Mark Texiera? Would be interested to see the two team’s records since then. And though I don’t follow it, wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t tweeted at all since then.

And yes, YankCrank, I agree with you. No excuse not to make easy work of Tomko tonight.

FYI..I was at that game. Where’s my credit?

      @ clintfsu813:
LOL! I give you all the credit in the world.

But if you get credit for that, do Corey and I get credit for Luis Castillo dropping that pop-up which allowed Teixeira to score the winning run?

      Good point: http://waswatching.com/2009/06/12/teixeira-on-john-henrys-tweet-curse/

That’s just about the “Life After Veras” time when the Yankees pitching took off.

Do I have this right, are the Sox on pace to throw Penny, Tazawa, Beckett at us this weekend?

Please, please let that be true.

If I’m counting right, it looks like it’ll be Penny/Pettitte on Friday, Burnett/Tazawa on Saturday and Sabathia/Beckett on Sunday. Interesting. It certainly favors us in two of the three matchups. Then again, that’s why they play the games…

FWIW the ESPN schedule projects these same pitchers:

Penny Vs. Pettite – slot that one in for about 3.5 hours. Penny is so slow. Am I the only one that finds that guy just plain brutal to watch? I hope that the scouts took note – Texas had a track meet the night Boston had Penny on the hill and Varitek behind the plate. I think it was 8 stolen bags, Andrus had three and Bourbon had 4. And Penny only threw 5+ innings.

I think Cabrera was responsible for one or two of them, Varitek for all of them.
