because, if the Yankees win tomorrow, and can then sweep on Sunday, we will be able to shout out “Los calcetines rojos son muertos!” – for the first time since August of 2006. Quote

Not quite Steve, they still have the wild card to fall back on. They ain't dead yet.......Though they are in for a dog fight, which will be fun to watch.

@ Tresh, I saw Sweeney Murty on SNY yesterday and he mentioned the Mets blowing that lead in 2007 the last few weeks of the season. I'm not popping any champagne until a stake is put through the vampire, it is doused in garlic oil, and it is chained in silver! That hasn't happened with the Bloody Sox just yet........

Yanks did exactly what you want them to do against bad pitchers, at Fenway Park, in August: Light up the score board.

Very happy with this one, especially because we really only "needed" to take one of these three games. Of course I wish that Bruney didn't implode, but even if we unfortunately drop the next two games we're still flyin' high.

Good work Yanks, now let's see how AJ does.

Congratulations, New York Yankees: 2009 AL Eastern Division Champions.

Oh, and how about that Damaso Marte?

Just want to see AJ pitch a good game against the Sox in Fenway, and get back to his longtime pattern vs. them from before this season.

If they win it, fine. If not, they have the one win they had to have in hand.
