Against a really, really, really tough lefty…with RISP, late in a must win or die post-season game, yes, I would still CONSIDER it Corey – stress consider…which is what I said in the first place, IIRC.

While Randy Williams might not qualify as a tough lefty, I have to ask, Steve. Do you still consider pinch hitting hairston for him during the playoffs against a tough lefty? Or do you need to see more before you change your mind?

The thing I like about the 2009 Yanks is that it seems like yesterday’s goat is always today’s hero.

Robbie Cano had a couple of blunders in Thursday’s series finale against Texas, getting picked off first base in one case and making a somewhat inartful attempt to field and throw on an infield single…and that doesn’t even cover his bad day at the plate with runners on base.

So what does he do tonight? He wins the game for the Yanks on a night when they really needed a win. ‘Atta boy Robbie!
