I worry about playing BOS in the ACLS but I also think we would beat them. However, these things are worrisome:

1- which AJ shows up?
2- CC has yet to prove himself in the post season
3- Lester and Beckett could be a very tough 1-2 to face
4- BOS has a never give up attitude. They fight to the last out. (And yes, I realize the Yanks have played like that this year but BOS has recent post season success. We do not.) We will also have the 2004 monkey on our back until we beat them in a post-season series.

…and I wouldn’t really worry about it. The playoffs start in what, one month? How many reliable starting pitchers do they have on hand? What is their record outside of Fenway? Hrm. Just another team doing what they should, winning games. I’ll worry about it when October comes.

This is really it, in a nutshell. I know it’s fun to talk about next year’s offseason and what would happen if we made it to or won the World Series or if we won 100+ games, but come on Yankee fans…let’s be real. It’s time to get in the playoffs and get out of the first round before anything else.

The Sox are obviously a good team and the Wild Card is theirs to lose. But I’d much rather they missed the playoffs, even if it meant that the Yanks had to play the Angels in the ALCS — a tougher opponent for us — and potentially lose to them. The only reason I say that is because I’d rather Boston simply not make the playoffs at all. Not because I’m afraid of them but because I hate them so much and would enjoy nothing more than to have them endure a winter of self-doubt.

Funny thing about Boston, they don’t seem to lose despite that fact that they have pitching woes. Is the divison 100% done…no. It seems unlikely that the Red Sox could catch up at this point BUT they have a month to do so and this game is so unpredictable, anything could happen. No matter what, the Yanks will probably have to go through Anaheim or Boston on their road to the big one this year.

Well, yeah. Sox good.

I think we all knew the Red Sox would be there. They’re good and they know what it takes to win when it matters.

i dunno, the rangers are impressive…they swept a double header yesterday against the jays, whom the sox swept during that 8 games…sounds like they are keeping up 2 me. It’ll be a fun race for us to watch, since we’re not involved

But, 1 step at a time… I will reserve my thoughts on the ALCS till we get there.

In the last few days I’ve reserved myself to the belief that the RS are almost certainly going to the the WC… and are the best team vying for it. I don’t know if I would rather see them or the Angels in the ALCS…. but probably the RS, to be honest
