@ bfriley76:
Thanks for the stat. Not as one sided as the Yanks in LA, but I'll take it. Home field is crucial for October IMO. Especially with our penchant for walk offs this year.

I was impressed with Posada last night. He kept Gaudin out of trouble, hit a nice HR and despite bouncing a throw on a pitchout, (awful!) came back in the 9th with that strikeout / throwout which was insane. It would have been a real nailbiter if Willis reaches second in the 9th inning. He deserves a lot of credit in this win.

After the game I think Jeter set a new Yankee record for most interviews without actually saying anything.

Anyone know how well LAA has played in the Bronx over the last few years? All I ever hear about is how we suck out there.

What I find most annoying about the Angels is the way they continually wear down pitchers by fouling off balls. The Yankees threw something like 190 pitches in this game. But it was good to see the Bombers actually manufacture a run to win this one. Too often lately their offense has been get-on-base-and-wait-for-a-homerun. Now the Yanks remain 5 up in the loss column and Sprite in the win column with one fewer game to play. That's the best part: the Bosox are running out of games to catch them.

I absolutely loved this win, even if we "almost lost it."

First of all, it was important to just get a win in Anaheim...any way possible. We could have blown a five run lead or a 10 run lead, the win was important.

This team finally showed some balls and some fight in that town. A-Rod was extremely clutch last night with his absolute bomb, his great play in the field to save the possible winning runs and his sac fly in the 9th. For all the time that's spent bashing him when he doesn't get those hits, how about we take some time and appreciate him when he does. He's dirty, end of story.

A lot of credit goes to Gardner as well, for his great defense out in CF and finding a way to get on base when he's needed on base. Without him, we probably lose those two games that he put us in position to win.

After five games there, we finally have something to build on. You know you can outscore that team, you know you can outpitch that team, you know you can beat them at their own game by manufacturing a run with speed when you need one and now you know you can beat that team. Let's go out today and do it again.

Gardy was pretty focused in the 9th, no? Gameball, A-rod. Nuff said.
