Joe DeLessio, at New York Mag, takes a shot at: Deconstructing John Sterling, One Call at a Time.
You know…the older he gets…Sterling’s starting to look a little like Jerry Springer. Just a tad, but, it’s there – at least to me.
I just hope it doesn’t reach the stage where Nick Swisher and A.J. Burnett start liftng up their shirts for “Sterling Beads.”

Oh Susan, did you see Jeter on that play? I mean, how smart of a player is he? He knew that on the fly ball to RF, he had to get back to first base or he would be out. It’s just his knowledge of the rules and how cool he keeps his head on the field. Just a tremendous baseball player, always looking for that edge. A leader in every sense of the word. Sometimes I think Gene Michael discovered him in a basket of reeds floating down a river, like Moses.
