Florida Winter Baseball League

The Florida Winter Baseball League has an old Yankees feel to it.
Ken Griffey Sr. is the league commish. And, El Duque Hernandez owns one of the teams.
Good luck to those guys. It will be interesting to see how the league does…

Betya he just wanted to pitch.
Speaking of duque, why is he never brought back during any ceremonies? Anyone know?
Well, he is still kinda sorta an active player- “active” meaning he was released by the Texas Rangers AAA team earlier in the season.
I guess, maybe I’ve just noticed other teams letting their players go to ceremonies for their old teams in the recent past ( thinking of the Rays letting Burrell go back to Philly, specifically)

Or how Kevin Millar (while with the O’s) would make as many trips as he could to be with his beloved Red Sox.

Maybe he’s been invited and passed on it?
Either that, or, he left on bad terms and the bridge has been burnt.
But, he’s not the only no show. Anyone seen Knobby in the Bronx lately?
