Would love to face Boston in ALCS... Beckett has a good resume.. but over the course of this season he has looked human.. he is more HR prone.... Lester is pretty good...but after all that its a wash... and Bard ..oh i wish Boston annoint him as closer.. he can b slapped around... like the Hansen dude theyhad a couple of yrs back... i can see Yanks in 6 if these 2teams met...

I find MLB Network much more palatable... so hvstopped watching BBTN... ESPN(Boston) has its agenda... and when its not boring its quite funny and pathetic

@ YankCrank:
Is Bucholtz their #3 starter? I would think they'd give that to Dice K. I agree that Beckett gets the edge on Postseason dominance, however, I think CC's been much better in the 2nd half this year. So as I read it you'd give a bigger pitching edge to the Sox, but it really comes down to who throws a good game as a starter. I still think these two teams match up the closest of the 4 that make it in. Unlike Kruk, I think it's a pretty close call.

Has anyone noticed that Kruk seems to have fallen off the NutriSystem wagon or is it that TV adds 30lbs.

Which reminds me of the old joke...They say the TV camera adds 10 pounds to your appearance, so how many camers are on Kruk when he's on Baseball Tonight? 12?

I'd have to disagree with your assessment, this is where i'd have it at...

CC/Beckett- edge Beckett for his postseason dominance
AJ/Lester- Lester, hands down
Andy/Bucholz- Even, both are throwing very well at the moment
4-5 Starters- edge Boston, Matsuzaka and Byrd are better than Joba and Gaudin right now

Offense- Yankees
Defense- even, neither are amazing
Middle Relief- slight edge to Red Sox. Wagner/Bard and Aceves/Hughes are both good.
Closer- edge Yankees.

All a bunch of rot from ESPIN. (How is the team with the best record in the bigs suddenly a mess??) They need something to talk about because they bought the NY/Boston Game on Sunday and even though it will be a bench battle they want everyone to watch. To address Kruk's point, I see the two teams matching up pretty well. Boston has a slight pitching edge, but it depends on Dice-K and AJ, each of whom are capable of brilliance and/or crap. They both walk a lot of hitters. Yanks have a slightly more dangerous offense, and a better road record.

I'm excited for this post season. I hope we pay back Detroit for 06 and then pay back Boston for 04 (at least the first installment). ESPIN has made a living trashing the Yanks, so why should they fix what ain't broke.

Very true. Kruk isn't on Baseball Tonight because he's a credible, intelligent and informed member of the baseball media. He's on there because he's colorful and blunt...and neither of those make me listen to you when you talk about the Yankees.

"Can you deem Andy Pettitte healthy after having to miss a start or two because of his shoulder?" He missed ONE start and was pretty damn effective when he came back. As far as Dice-K is concerned he pitched against the orioles and angels in boston. The angels suck in boston and the orioles laid down for the red sox. i am sure he will pitch this weekend, let us see what happens. It is a long season, Krukkie, so every team is going to have it's ups and downs. the objective is to get to the postseason.
Has anyone noticed that Kruk seems to have fallen off the NutriSystem wagon or is it that TV adds 30lbs.
