Week 26 – 2009
What stands out the most in my mind, this past week, is that the Yankees had six meaningless games against the Royals and Rays, and went 3-3 playing them, in a period of time that seemed to take forever to pass by…
…really…
…it was very hard to have any interest in these games…outside of having the hope that no one on the Yankees got injured playing these contests.
And, now, it’s over…finally.
Next up: The first two games of the ALDS, to be played in the Bronx, next Wednesday and Friday – at 6:07 p.m. ET, each day. (Yeah, a six o’clock start – nice break for the kiddies…but a bit of a bummer for us working-stiffs.)
Actually, this is going to be very strange week coming up…with no Yankees baseball to watch sans those two games. Nada on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Zip, zero, zilch…
Very strange, indeed…

I like CC and AJ getting the ball for 6:07 start games…It’ll be tough for the hitters to catch up to their velocity in the shadows.
6?
Is it me or are the start times pretty odd? It doesn’t even work from a “prime time” point of view?
I’d rather have the 6 time over the 2:00 start for the NL game. At least we can see some of our game.

Exactly. I should be home right in time for first pitch.
What sucks is that the MLB package on the internet doesn’t cover post-season. If I were a fan of one of the other teams, I’d want to be able to watch on my desktop at work…

That does suck. How much extra is it for the playoffs?

I can’t find out how much on MLB.com. They don’t even seem to be advertising it. I wonder if TBS bought up the exclusive rights for the LDS and won’t let MLB stream it live…?
I just find the start times odd. But then again, that’s MLB for you. I’ve always thought that they miss out on a great opportunity on Saturdays, blackouts be damned;
1pm
4pm
7pm
10pm
Then again, they were starting games @ 11pm, so I guess 2 & 6 pm starts aren’t all that bad.
