This is a valid point. But so is the thinking that, in the post-season, you use who you must, when you must, to kill off rallies as they happen, and let the 15th inning take care of itself.

Joba could&#039;ve gone longer, but that would&#039;ve messed with Hughes&#039; head. Aceves could&#039;ve gone longer, but only at the cost of allowing Morales to bat left-handed in Yankee Stadium in the 12th inning of a tied game in the ALCS.</description>
