On one hand, if Andy gets them tomorrow then CC can start game 1. On the other hand, if CC starts game 6, and the Yankees were to lose, then you could use CC for an inning out of the ‘pen should they need to in game 7.

There’s no need for a move that would reek of desperation. No matter what the media is trying to portray, the Yankees are ahead three games to two, not the other way around.
If you were told before the series, the Yanks would be up 3-2 with Andy going in Game 6, you would have signed up for that in a second, no?

I agree with the thoughts above.
If the Yanks start CC in game 6, and the Angels catch up with him, or he pitches well, but the offense apples up, then you have the following Game 7 situation:
1. The Angels have all the momentum.
2. The Angels have the knowledge they just beat the Yanks’ ace, after getting shut down twice by him.
3. The have the better of the pitching matchup.
That’s just too much advantage to give away in a potential Game 7. Plus, you absolutely, positively lose CC until, perhaps, Game 3 of the World Series, if the Yankees get there, which means a likely start for Gaudin in game 4 as well.
