How about Denny Neagle for game 4?

I go with option #1. One start for AJ and Andy on 3 days rest for their last starts of the year should not be a huge deal, and CC is just a horse.

I think you have to go with 2 and hope for a rainout. Ideally game 4 would be rained out pushing everything back a day allowing Sabathia to pitch game 4 on regular rest.

Given the way Pettite has pitched this postseason it is crazy to only give him 1 start which nixes 3.

My approach for game 4 would be to give Gaudin a very short leash. I think he can give you 3 decent innings. After 3-4 innings I would go to Chamberlain for 2-3 innings to get us to the seventh.

Game 1 – 10/28 – Sabathia
Game 2 – 10/29 – Burnett
Off Day – 10/30 – None Needed
Game 3 – 10/31 – Pettitte
Game 4 – 11/1 – Sabathia (on 3-days rest)
Game 5 – 11/2 – Chamberlain or Gaudin
Off Day – 11/3 – None Needed
Game 6 – 11/4 – Pettitte (on 3 days rest)
Game 7 – 11/5 – Sabathia (on 3 days rest)

And, you don’t tell Burnett till the 3rd.

I think, NOW, you have to go Choice Three. But, I think it’s CRAZY to ask Gaudin or Joba to start a WS game…considering they haven’t started a game in a long time and barely pitched, at length, in the post-season. That game would be a “gimmie” for the Phils.
