Time for Andy to properly introduce himself to Manuel:
“Andy Pettitte, he’s a lot like anybody else who ages — his stuff is kind of starting to dwindle down,” Manuel said.
“I’ve seen him pitch on TV a lot, and I’ve definitely seen him pitch against our Cleveland team,” the former Indians manager added. “We used to have some pretty good success against him, and I think we are ready for him.”

Of course, the fact that Pettitte (just like Pedro, who is a year OLDER than Andy) has changed over the years since he last saw him. I just don’t get these Phillies and all the trashtalking.

Thanks, manager Joe, for putting Swisher back in the lineup after a day to clear the cobwebs. And thanks for pulling Andy at the right time, letting Joba and Marte complete their innings, and letting Hughes get another shot, even if that one didn’t work. Mo only had to throw 5 pitches, and is more than ready to back CC later tonight. And for PHing Matsui.

Tomorrow, we may be giving thanks to Charlie Manuel, for not starting Lee on 3 days’ rest. But maybe not. Let’s all watch and see.

Wow, what a great and fun win. At a minimum, it guarantees it goes back to the Stadium. Hopefully the bats keep showing up and CC is as sharp on 3 days again as he was in the ALCS.
