Wow, what a great and fun win. At a minimum, it guarantees it goes back to the Stadium. Hopefully the bats keep showing up and CC is as sharp on 3 days again as he was in the ALCS.

Treat!

<i>Woe to ye of little faith!!</i>
=========================
Thank you, Brain Cashman, for trading Betemit and assorted parts for Nick Swisher (hee-hee-hee). Thanks, Hank, for re-signing A-Rod over Cashman's objection.
Thanks, manager Joe, for putting Swisher back in the lineup after a day to clear the cobwebs. And thanks for pulling Andy at the right time, letting Joba and Marte complete their innings, and letting Hughes get another shot, even if that one didn't work. Mo only had to throw 5 pitches, and is more than ready to back CC later tonight. And for PHing Matsui.
================================
I guess Jimmy Rollins really learned some things about hitting, Mo, didn't he?

BTW, Rollins giving out stock tips next week, for those who highly value his ability to predict future events...
===================
Tomorrow, we may be giving thanks to Charlie Manuel, for not starting Lee on 3 days' rest. But maybe not. Let's all watch and see.

Time for Andy to properly introduce himself to Manuel:
“Andy Pettitte, he’s a lot like anybody else who ages — his stuff is kind of starting to dwindle down,” Manuel said.
“I’ve seen him pitch on TV a lot, and I’ve definitely seen him pitch against our Cleveland team,” the former Indians manager added. “We used to have some pretty good success against him, and I think we are ready for him.”

Eff Charlie Manuel and eff his smart mouth. He’s talking about the Indians as if they fucking did something. They were the 90’s most prolific chokers. Eat it, Charlie.

</blockquote>

Manuel was the manager of the Indians from 2000 to 2002.

Pettitte vs. the Indians:

2000: 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA, 2 games, 10 innings, 4 earned runs
2001: 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA, 1 game, 8 innings, 4 earned runs
2002: 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA, 2 games, 12 innings, 5 earned runs

Not amazing, but "pretty good success against him"? Not exactly.

Of course, the fact that Pettitte (just like Pedro, who is a year OLDER than Andy) has changed over the years since he last saw him. I just don't get these Phillies and all the trashtalking.

Just a heads-up. No "dedicated" game thread tonight. The one for Game 2 was hardly used. But, if you want, as always, free free to use this Watercooler entry as a game thread, if you want.
