I would love to watch it again. I wish WPIX would run it again or something; they did a nod to their past last weekend with the Odd Couple marathon; why not remember 1978? Those were the days.

ESPN Classic did run it a couple of years ago, before it ruined the former Classic Sports Network with reruns of American Gladiators, World Series of Poker, and The National Two Man Pallbearing Championships as the late George Carlin used to say.

Yes, I remember it well. It was an hour special WPIX broadcast a week after the World Series with Bill White hosting. Years later, Scooter would make fun of Bill’s extra wide suitcoat lapels when it would be broadcast during Channel 11 rain delays.

@ lisaswan:I actually have it on VHS. I should transfer it to DVD by now. The tape is 30-years old and the quality on the tape does fade after a while, I have found.

I thought, someone, somewhere, once did a replay of it. Maybe it was YES? Or, maybe it was the MLB Network or ESPN. I may have even written about it here? Let me check.

Funny you should say that. I was just listening to the Ringo Starr song “It Don’t Come Easy,” and thinking about that special.

I would love to see that show again – haven’t seen it since it aired in 1978!
