Doc, Straw, Boggs, Duncan, Rogers & Key were FA’s. Cone was acquired in 95 in a salary dump, and retained as a FA. Martinez and Nelson were acquired after the 95 season in a salary dump. Really, I don’t want to be a Royals fan – or even a fan of a team like the Twins (‘tho they do a lot of things right). And, again, if my choice is being a fan of 2009 Yankees or the 2009 Mets or 2009 Pirates, give me the 2009 Yankees – EVERY TIME.
