Not bird, nor plane, nor even frog, it's just a little 'ole baseball blog!

And I’m talking about the place that I used to pilgrimage to back in the early 1980′s

The good folks at Misc. Baseball tipped me off on these…

Babe Ruth speaking about when he might retire.

Babe Ruth talking about his called shot home run in the 1932 World Series versus the Chicago Cubs.

A short clip of Babe Ruth speaking at Yankee Stadium for the last time, in 1948, a few months before he died from throat cancer.

I’ve seen the clip of him at his last YS appearance, and it’s a tough watch to see Babe in that state.

As far as the called shot, maybe he verbalized it to the Cubs bench, but as the lost home film showed several years back, it didn’t look as if he was pointing to CF. It looked as if he had two fingers up in front of him, as if he were saying to the bench jockeying Cubs, “That’s only two strikes on me”.

Most eye witness denied that he called his shot that night. That is actually a rare clip because he hardly ever admitted to it. Usually he would say something like, ‘well people said I called it, do you doubt them?’
