u do everything to make sure he succeeds at catcher. if victor martinez can catch 100+ games than montero should be fine.

I donno if its his big body thats the problem, infact when i saw him on some youtube videos he was not that big, but i do see the concern of how he will be in 6-7 years body type wise…. but thats not unusual for a catcher though…

and if reports are accurate, his footwork has improved a lot…

i still say give him one more year behind the dish, one full year… JoPo is signed through end of 2011 i think, so the target for Montero should be May-June 2011 and i think we should have a good guage by then… i cant accept in a league where fluffy catchers thrive a big guy cant strive… i would actually like to see how he develops this year… he is supposedly the cant miss bat… lets hope so…

If the bat is as can’t miss as they say it is, the Yanks should really stop wasting time and start turning him into a LF. If Carlos Lee can play LF, Montero should be able to as well. There’s next to no chance he plays behind the dish over Austin Romine and 1B is blocked by Teixeira.
