Croix de Yankee Stadium

Over the past 6 years (and maybe longer?) it has been extremely rare for less than 30,000 fans to attend a Yankees home game.
But, I’ve found four games – one from 2006 and three from 2004 – where the crowds at Yankee Stadium were…well…let’s just say not up to recent Yankee Stadium standards. Here they are:
September 9, 2004 – 1st Game
September 20, 2004
September 29, 2004 – 1st Game
June 25, 2006 – 2nd Game
So, any of these ring a bell? Remember them? Did you actually attend any of these four games? If so, you friend…are a Yankes fan…indeed.

I feel like one of the September games was a rain soaked make up date that had to be played because it was the end of the season.
I seem to recall Mussina making a comment about having a BBQ for the fans in the stands since there were so few of them.
Seems interesting to me that most of them were in 2004.

It shouldn’t. It rained for each of these games except the September 20, 2004 game.
As for that game, the Yankees were ahead of the Red Sox by 4.5 games with 13 to play, and playing the Blue Jays who were 32 GB. Not sure what the point of this post is. People don’t go to baseball games when it rains or when the games are basically meaningless.
This usually happens with DH makeups from rainouts, especially in September after schools re-open and the Stadium also gets too cold & windy to sit for seven hours.
