    ...a frog?

Not bird, nor plane, nor even frog, it's just a little 'ole baseball blog!

Can you name the only four Yankees batters to reach base 4+ times in a winner-take-all post-season game?

If not, click here for the answer.

I know the answer, but I cheated with a search.

One of the four was actually the goat of the game…and the series in question.

      @ Evan3457:

I think about that and think that, if the media was as it was now in 1926, how would Babe have been portrayed for his actions in Game 7? Would the media ever give him a break on his base-stealing gaff?

      I don’t know, really.

Babe was like Jordan, I think. Whatever he did that was wrong, he was beloved, and was soon forgiven. (Like Jordan going to Atlantic City in between games of the Eastern Finals against the Knicks.) The press was all over Ruth for his “tummmy-ache” in 1925 that may have cost the Yanks any chance of contending that season, but he was soon forgiven.

However, if Alex Rodriguez had ever done something really stupid like getting caught stealing to end a World Series with the winning run at the plate, it would have been treated like he had committed mass murder.
