Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran met with federal investigators back in February regarding their involvement with Dr. Anthony Galea. But, now, almost three weeks later, A-Rod has not had his meeting with the feds.

I wonder why it’s taking these two sides, Rodriguez and the investigators, so long to get together on this? Is that a good sign or a bad one?

I’m not sure. Maybe A-Rod is trying to get an immunity deal? That’s possible. But, I do think it would be nice to get this over with – if I were Alex. Do you agree? The season starts pretty soon.

I’m not in the legal field, but it seems to me that the Feds get off on entrapping famous people, i.e., if they can’t get them on anything concrete, they will try to catch them in a lie. Martha Stewart comes to mind. Karl Rove comes to mind. Could they be slowly building their case to bring A-Rod in at the end, hoping he’ll trip up and they could then find any inconsistency and make a federal case of it? I seriously wouldn’t put it past them.

On the other hand, maybe they’ve concluded that A-Rod isn’t all that important to them and therefore they aren’t rushing to interview him. I sort of doubt that scenario given the Fed’s seeming penchant for seeking splashy headlines.

      @ rigger2:
I agree. Irrespective of which political party is in office, the DOJ’s motto is always the same: when in doubt, waste time and money on bullshit.
