What The FedEx Truck Dragged In Today

Funny. I’m not as excited as I normally am on this day.
Maybe it’s because this is my 10th season as a season ticket holder? But, I doubt it. I think it has more do to with the price of games these days. In any event, this is a nice reminder that the season is just around the corner.

6 more days!
Wait, THAT’S what the tickets look like this year? They finally get #27 and then they don’t play that fact up on the tickets? In 2008, the tickets had the “Final Season” logo. In 2009, they had the “Innaugural Season” logo. Now they have generic pictures of players, like we’re the White Sox or something?
Booo….definite points marked down for lack of thought by Yanks marketing department. When you win, you’re supposed to exploit it in every obvious way until you’re no longer the champ. Marketing 101.
@ MJ Recanati:
FWIW, the other tickets have Girardi, Jeter, Cano, Mo, Posada, and the World Series trophy on them – joining the ones with AJ, Andy, CC, Tex, Swish and A-Rod.
No Joba. No Granderson. No Gardner. No Nancy Newman.

Granderson, obviously, wouldn’t belong since he wasn’t part of the championship team last year.
Kinda surprised no Joba. No matter how he performed last year, the marketing department has few guys as colorful as Joba to sell against.
@ MJ Recanati:
Increasingly, it feels like they are trying to somewhat humble Joba purposefully. It’ll be interesting to see how it progresses over the season.
@ Corey Italiano:
Michael Kay said as much on his radio show last night. I wonder if this is a part of it or if it’s a coincidence. Considering how small the list is — AJ, Andy, CC, Tex, Swish and A-Rod, Girardi, Jeter, Cano, Mo, Posada and the World Series trophy — I’d say it’s more a coincidence than anything else.
