      Andy Pettitte, every time.

      @ Corey Italiano:
Pettitte would be my first choice, and after that…think Mariano can get a start? :)

So, AJ, Javy and the kids cannot be trusted?

Clearly, Andy Pettite. Whether by talent, by track record or by default, he’s the only choice from among the group you’ve given us (“Someone Else Not Mentioned Here” is too vague).

Can AJ, Javy or the kids win a must-win? Sure, AJ showed us in the WS that he could win a must-win in Game 2.

But personally speaking, did I go into that game confident AJ would win? No, I wasn’t. I knew he had the potential to be great, but I wouldn’t have bet on it.

I think we can agree we’d be nervous if Hughes or Joba were on the mound for a must win, and Javy hasn’t thrown a real pitch for the Yankees in five years…so we can’t even make a call on him yet.

Yes, Andy has been a Big Game Pitcher for the Yanks, but not always. Have we all forgotten how AJ was only slightly less intimidating than Haliday on the Blue Jays? I’m a Pettitte fan as much as anyone, but at his best AJ is da man.
