Tim Brown has the feature. It’s a good read.
Some highlights -
Best fastball – Kyle Farnsworth or Scott Proctor
Best curveball – Hideki Irabu
Best slider – Joba Chamberlain
I guess that speaks volumes towards pitching not being all about “stuff.”

Related, is it just me, or, has clintfsu813 been MIA the last 5 days?
@ Steve Lombardi:
I think he’s on vacay
@ MJ Recanati:
Good for him!
That was a fun read!
I’m surprised he’d even think of Clemens’s slider considering how infrequently Clemens threw his slider before 2007.
Further, it’s odd that he’d consider Clemens’s splitter — or split-finger pitches in general — as a “junk” pitch. A true junkballer is a guy that tosses soft stuff, not a guy that throws a power splitter in the mid-to-high 80′s.
Interesting…Pettitte’s nickname was Knucksie. That’s a great bit of trivia right there.
I love the love for Edgar Martinez. He’s one of my favorites (now that he’s not playing).
Hmmm, Irabu or Duque’s eephus? Holmes and Karsay, the few times they were healthy threw decent curves too.
I think AJ’s Curveball is much better
How come there is no best cutter… Andy V Mo (lol)
I wonder how pitchers would rate Passedballsada…food for thought, folks.
