    .

Of course, the Rays are also 8-3 in their other games too…

In any event, let’s hope the Yankees can do the same when they have the opportunity to do so…meaning make some hay when they’re playing against the underbelly of the league…

You can’t label which teams are weak and which aren’t at this stage of the season. The fact that the Yanks are on that list is a good tip off.

@ Corey Italiano: The Yankees are on this list because they played the O’s last night – whose w% is less than 40%.

      @ Steve Lombardi:
I read this list completely wrong, but, I still think it doesn’t mean that much cause at this stage of the year. A team thats under .500 now might not be later on in the year. (looking at Boston)

Agreed. The Astros are probably a little better than .400 right now but they stink on ice. No sense looking at winning percentages after three weeks…

Oh, I dunno…I think…to some level…this slice tells us that somewhat near 50% of the Rays early success this season has come beating teams who were not playing well (at the time of the match-up). That has to be kinda encouraging to Yankees fans, no?

Again, not to slight the Rays. They’re a great team and I picked them in the pre-season to win the DIV. Just saying that their record, so far, COULD BE, the benefit of catching the right teams at the right time…to an extent.

      @ Steve Lombardi:
After we beat Boston to open the season, their W% was .333. So, had Kansas City swept them, would you have said that KC had feasted on weak opponents because they beat a team that had a .333 W%?

The season really doesn’t begin to shake out until June when teams have played nearly 50% of their games. It’s premature to make any judgments until then.

Having said that, sure, I’m all for discounting as many Rays W’s as possible! Joe Maddon trails only Mike Scioscia and Tony LaRussa for guys I detest in the game baseball. Screw him and his ballclub.

and they shd feast on the weak teams, my hope is a rip-roaring race between the Rays and Yanks for the AL East.. wouldnt mind seeing them in ALCS either…

Unless the Rays get their Bullpen together, things WILL get rough for them.
