    K. Russo 16	24	0	0	.125	.222	.125

Thank goodness for Gardner, Teixeira, Cano, Thames and Swisher, eh?

And, I wonder, looking at his numbers here before he got hurt, how A-Rod will perform over the last month of the season once he returns? How terrible will it be for him if the Yankees are fighting it out with the Rays over the last month and he tanks during that time?

When you take the counting stats here and times them by 2, this is what you get:

                   HR	RBI
      Teixeira 42	116
      Rodriguez 28	112
      Cano 30	100
      Swisher 30	100
      Posada 20	70
      Granderson 24	68
      Jeter 10	56
      Gardner 6	50
      Thames 16	36
      Pena 0	22
      Cervelli 0	18

Just an another (interesting?) way to look at projected seasonal production based performance of the last three months.

And, supposing A-Rod returns in tip-top hip-hop form, might this be the optium lineup down the strecth?

      LF Gardner
      RF Swisher
      1B Teixeira
      3B A-Rod
      2B Cano
      DH Thames
      CF Granderson
      C Posada
      SS Jeter

      @ Jim TreshFan:
      Granderson ahead of Posada?

And, as much as I love Thames’ current hot streak, it’s not going to last. I wouldn’t write his name on the lineup card in sharpee.

      Why presume ARod will tank?

Did his October last yr not end all that talk?

I know you hate ARod, Steve, but this is bordering on crazy talk.

Injury plus lack of rehab assignment in his comeback.
Did you see Ryan Howard’s first games back from the DL after a one-game rehab? UGH-LEE.
