There was nothing but good news regarding Andy Pettitte down in Trenton yesterday.
O.K., on your mark, get set, go: Whew!

(Hopeful) News headline after the World Series: “In his last year in pinstripes Yankees Pitcher, Andy Pettitte, comes back just in the nick of time to lead The Yankees to a second consecutive Division Title and the franchises 28th World Championship.”
Cashman has said that Andy will get one more rehab. I don’t get it. If he can go four, with the rosters expanded, why not have his next start with the Yanks?

Better safe than sorry?

@ MJ Recanati:
If you read Keith Law’s story about Pettitte’s start last night, he said he threw 51 pitches at about 90% to where “he looked like he was playing catch and didn’t max out his velocity.”
I think they’d like to see him stretched out and throwing at 100% before he hits the bigs again.

Absolutely. Hopefully Scranton/Trenton stay alive in their playoffs and Andy can get one more start down there which would then put him in line to start in NY in about 10 days from now.
