I figure that CC is going to get somewhere between 3 and 8 starts in October, if the Yankees reach the World Series.
Eight starts would be if something crazy happened – like the ALCS and WS each went 7 games.
If the Yankees reach the WS, I could see CC getting about 5 starts this October.
Since you need 11 wins to get a ring, they better win all of CC’s starts – cause if you’re counting on Pettitte, Hughes and Burnett to win more than 6 games this October, that’s asking a lot.
@ Steve Lombardi:
I’ve seen Jeff Weaver go nuts in the playoffs as a Cardinal. Anything can happen.

It is also possible the the bullpen could win a couple games.

More like inevitable, given that very few complete games are thrown, even in the post-season.
Do you think the Yankees must win EVERY game started by CC Sabathia in October in order to repeat as World Series Champions this year?
I dunno; did he have to win all of his starts in last season’s playoffs and World Series?
In the actual event, he started 5 games, and won three of them, got a ND in one, and (oh, the pain; THE PAIN!!) actually lost the first game of the World Series.
When your ace loses a game in the post-season at home, your #2 guy has to pick him up. Fortunately, A.J. Clunker did just that, out-dueling a stingy Pedro in the most critical game of the post-season, as it turns out.
