Fair point – in the post season you can’t always rely on the long ball. There’ll be games where moving runners up, taking an extra base, and getting that 2 out single with a runner on 3rd is necessary.
@ 77yankees:
Which, sadly, the Yanks have been awful at doing the past month or so. Their hitting problems with RISP have really not gone away at all. They took another 3-for-11 w/RISP last night…
Oh, stop it, you’re sounding like a Francesa caller!
@ Steve Lombardi:
I haven’t listened to Mike, with or without “the Dog”, in years. If they sound like that, then what’s the problem? They’d be correct in saying that the Yanks are struggling to score runs lately. The offense has been woefully inconsistent.
Mussolini and the Meathead on the FAN was dreadful even before the Meathead left to go into the Witness Protection Program….or so it seems.
But anyway, just because they’ve been trending that way in the clutch recently doesn’t mean it’ll continue. A-Rod had three and a half brutal playoff series in a row until last October, and we know how that turned out.

True enough…but, then again, why wouldn’t it?
