The first team to win two games in the ALCS this year will go on to win the series and advance to the Fall Classic.

    You read it here first.

So, if Sabathia wins Game 1 and Lee wins Game 3, that puts all the pressure on Game 2 – and Phii Hughes for the Yankees and Colby Lewis for the Rangers.

Yeah, by Sunday morning, we’ll know which team will be representing the American League in the World Series.

I’ll just say it now. Yankees win in 6. The games will be a lot closer and more painful than most fans realize, in part because I think Texas is a lot better than people realize.

is this prediction of the same variety as when you said this would be a very short postseason for the yankees, intimating on more than one occasion that you didn’t love their chances to get past the alds? or when you picked the phillies to beat the yankees in the 2009 world series in september 2009 because they had better starting pitching? or is this prediction different?

      let’s go yanks/cc tonight.

Yanks in 5. Just for fun:

Game 1 – 2-1 Yanks win, Sabathia goes 8 straight to Mo, Wilson does a good job and holds the Yanks to 1 run over 7 till the bullpen blows it in the 8th

Game 2 – 6-3 Yanks win, Hughes gives in a quality start as Lewis gets hit hard, Joba comes in throwing serious gas.

Game 3 – 8-3 Rangers Win, Pettitte gets hit hard, has nothing on the mound. Everyone puts up a stink about it going into the World Series. Lee puts on a clinic scattering 3 solo homers, going the distance.

Game 4 – 4-2 Yanks win, Burnett puts in a good performance going 6 innings giving up 1 run, despite walking 5 batters. Joba gives up a home run, game 2 was moot.

game 5 – 5-1 Yanks win, Sabathia-to-Mo for the win.

      ALCS MVP – CC

      @ Corey Italiano:

I like your predictions. The only one I have a hard time believing is Game 4…I think Burnett will stink up the joint.

I think the Yanks in 7. Hughes’ will lose Game 6, but Andy will save the day in Game 7.
