    Ron Fritz thinks so.

And, I’m sure Jeter’s agent wouldn’t mind having an offer for leverage…

And Jeter would like to disappear into the black hole that is Camden Yards because….?

      Let’s keep it real here.

Please, Please Baltimore take Jeter away!

This story is absurd. Firstly, he won’t “bring five World Series titles” with him. The Orioles won’t win a World Series just for being around Derek Jeter and having him in their clubhouse. Second, what the Orioles need is not to get older at a key defensive position.

If the Orioles want to enter the bidding and come in over the top for Jeter, by all means. The Orioles won’t be better for having tied up payroll on Jeter for the next X number of years, especially not if Manny Machado (last year’s top draft pick by the O’s) progresses quickly and pushes Jeter aside during the life of the contract.

Anyone hear from Andy MacPhail on this?

      @ Jim TreshFan:
Good question. My guess is that he probably won’t comment on the story since, realistically, I don’t see the O’s as being interested.

That piece is one of the dumbest things I’ve read in a long time.
