My vote is for the “Who cares; this still doesn’t change the fact that our starting rotation sucks” option
I voted for the A’s. Despite not having someone as great as Rivera, the rest of their bullpen is deeper and more versatile.
I actually think the Yankees bullpen is being overrated based on the glowing numbers from Soriano’s 2010 season. I don’t see them translating nearly as well in 2011 for the Yanks and, as a result, I’m afraid the bullpen will be underwhelming.
While normally not a big deal — the Yankees have done a good job building bullpens on the fly the past few seasons — this year it’ll be more difficult to jettison underperformers since their contracts (Feliciano/Soriano) will make them harder to hide.
Agreed. No bullpen can hide flaws in the rotation. That’s why all the people that wanted to sign Soriano made no sense. An 8th inning pitcher won’t change what’s happening in the 5th inning.
