Funny to hear him say that it makes him “feel lighter.” I have no idea how pants and socks can make one feel lighter but, sure, if Mo’s happy, I’m happy.
I guarantee that the moment he blows a couple of saves in April, everyone’s going to blame the socks.
Back in the day (1869) Harry Wright believed knickers helped you run faster and all that. Ridiculous? Maybe. But I still have an old pair of PF Flyers around somewhere.
I love little uniforms styles that players stick to or feel the need to change for ridiculous reasons. I always rocked the high socks and never once wore my pants down, all the way from when I was five to today.
Baseball is such a superstitious sport, I hope that never changes.
High socks is the way to go. I’ve worn High socks since little league. Even now while I’m coaching I wear em high. Even with all the jokes from the damn kids. Just have to make sure you roll the cuffs up right, otherwise they look bad.
@ YankCrank:
In HS, I did the stirrup look. Don’t ask me why, I have no idea.
