So, the Yankees have now lost six games in a row. This is Joe Girardi’s first six-game losing streak since taking over as New York’s manager in 2008. And, it’s the 27th time since 1973 that the Yankees had a six-game losing streak or greater. Here are the others:

    .

The big question here, at this point, is “When will it end?”

Personally, it can’t end soon enough for me.  Each night, my 7-year old son goes to bed listening to the Yankees game on the radio as he falls asleep.  And, in the month of May, including tomorrow, the are now ten mornings where I had  to let him know at breakfast that the Yankees lost the game.  That’s ten times in seventeen days (covering just 15 games).

Just for once, I’d like to give the little guy some good news rather than have to tell him that they lost, again.

My brother tells me when my nephew opens his eyes in the morning his first words are, “Did the Yankees win?”

Anyone think Girardi could be seeing the door soon??? This team needs something shaken up and maybe that will work??? There seems to be no life anywhere on the team and sometimes that comes from the manager. Whenever they loose a lead or go down early they just seem to be giving up lately, there doesn’t seem to be any fight in anyone. To me its the manager’s job to keep the players motivated when they cant seem to get themselves motivated.

      No.

Firing a manager for no reason doesn’t shake things up, it only creates more dysfunction.

      It’s not the manager’s fault.

      This isn’t a motivational issue, it’s a performance issue.

There may be problems with this team, but Girardi isn’t it, despite some of the head scratching moves he makes sometimes.
