I’d rather watch boxing in a movie than watch a true boxing match. And, I’ve probably only seen a handful of boxing matches in my entire life. In fact, if they outlawed boxing tomorrow, I wouldn’t think twice about – much less shed a tear.

That all said, as a 48-year old, it’s always cool to see a 46-year old do something major in professional sports – no matter what the contest is…

And, yes, I just  caught the last few rounds of this one on HBO, once the Yankees blew their game open in the 7th today.

Herschel Walker is impressive too, at 49, kicking ass in the Octagon (which is a far better, and tougher sport than boxing)

      @ Corey Italiano:
You know, it’s funny. I grew up watching boxing and have loved the sport my whole life. As much as I agree that MMA is tougher and there’s just no arguing that it’s a cleaner and more well-run sport, I’ll never love any MMA fight as much as I love the sweet science.

I’m only a few years older than you but I think it’s a generational thing. Having grown up with Mike Tyson and having watched Julio Cesar Chavez, Hagler, Duran, Leonard, Roy Jones, etc…I’ll never stop loving boxing no matter how impressive MMA has become.
