Granderson Turning Back Into Joe Boyd?

Has anyone else noticed that Curtis Granderson is just 2 for his last 19 with 10 strikeouts in those 19 ABs? You can’t get much colder than that, right? Just a blip, or, are we looking at a June swoon for the Grandy Man?

However, in the 20 AB’s prior to your sample, he hit .350/.350/.700 with only 3 K’s.
Slumps happen.

As do somewhat prolonged flukey hot streaks.
In May of 1997, Joey Cora had a BA/OBA/SLG line of .449/.500/.682 in 119 PA. Yes, JOEY CORA with an OPS of 1.182 over a span of ONE MONTH and 119 PA!
Sometimes, guys who look like Babe Ruth, who have no reason to look like Ruth, come crashing back to normal in time…

Granderson has had 530 PA’s (464 AB) since the 2010 All Star Break. Over that time, he’s compiled a .261/.341/.552 batting line with 34 HR, 84 RBI, 92 R and 14 SB.
His career stats include a .268/.341/.488 batting line (inclusive of this year or, if you prefer, .268/.341/.481 before this year). Apart from a spike in power manifested in a higher slugging average, there’s nothing about his performance which should indicate a fluke.
I don’t get you Steve. How you’d even compare a 119 PA sample to a 530 PA sample is beyond me.

And, from July 24, 2009 to July 22, 2010, Granderson’s BA/OBA/SLG line was .238/.306/.417 in 129 games with 516 AB. And, he had 121 Ks in those 516 AB.
Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?
Haters gonna hate. (I’m channeling Raf & 3LW)
I know you don’t hate the guy Steve, as that is a strong word, but you do hate ON him. The 516 AB you’ve listed above is before he made his adjustment in the bat lab of K Long. Anyone who follows this team closely knows that Grandy has been one of the top producers for this team this year and is above average in the field.
With all that being said, I was super pissed when he SO in the bottom of the 9th last night. Wasn’t quite as bad as Jeter swinging at ball 4 on a 3-1 count in my opinion.
@ Steve Lombardi:
I showed you how the last 530 PA’s of Granderson’s career are entirely in line with his career numbers yet you continue to argue about slices and pieces. Nevermind that the 500 or so PA’s that you’re referencing are a part of Granderson’s entire career.
Steve, you make no sense.
MJ, you just don’t get it.
There, we’re even.
There’s nothing to get about your illogical arguments. Your posts are getting more crotchety and desperate by the day. It’s sad, because I know you’re better than this. It’s like you’ve given up on the intelligent, stats-oriented site this used to be. Now you’re just contradicting yourself and improperly using stats when that’s not how it used to be.
