Per Chad Jennings, tonight’s first pitch scheduled for 10:30 PM.  The fans who have been sitting in Yankee Stadium for the last 3 1/2 hours, or more, for this game to start deserve a Croix De Steinhouse pin or something.

This was what my pride gets me: an exhausted ride from the D train back home around 1:45 in the morning.

After Granderson’s HR, the only other time I cheered loudly was when Posada got his second hit of the game, which moved him ABOVE the Mendoza Line (.203), go crazy, folks, go crazy.

Yes, getting a free ticket in the Grandstand or Terrace for sometime this season helps… but still, I have no other words to say except that just sucked.

Also, I still don’t think I’m dry yet.

      @ Brent:
You, sir, are a true trooper! Did the Yankees at least offer fans who attended a ticket to another game this season?

      @ Steve Lombardi:

Yes. Brent mentioned a free ticket in the Grandstand or Terrace for sometime this season.

      What a shame.

LOL. Too early in the AM for me. Totally missed that. Good, it was the right thing to do…after making the fans wait that long, etc. Heck, they should have thrown in a free Yearbook and hot dog too!

Should have made the stadium more compact, classier, and with a retractable roof. No reason for rain outs, delays, and playing in bad weather.
I agree with another blogger that ALL new stadiums should be required to have retractable roofs.

      @ nwyank:

I said this back in 2005:

      http://waswatching.com/2005/05/24/no-retractable-dome-on-the-new-stadium/

But, the Yankees don’t care if they make 40,000 people wait 3 hours to see a game. They sell a ton of food and beer in those 3 hours. And, they don’t care if they make 40,000 people wait an hour and then call the game either – because they sell food and get parking money that day, anyway, and then fan is SOL.

The Yankees only care if they lose money…and, since they make money in these spots, they say screw the fan.

      There’s a reason… Costs.
