Yankees are on Jimenez but Cashman says there’s “no urgency” to trade, says he “absolutely” has enough pitching as is.
Another Bubba Crosby smoke-screen?

I don’t think it’s a smoke screen, more of a reality check, and he has to say this because he wouldn’t want to waste time with teams like the Rockies thinking the Yanks are crazy enough to deal all of their prospects for one pitcher.
Let’s see if Colon and Garcia are really toast – I don’t think both are. Hughes looked much better yesterday. Nova is throwing well and waiting in the wings. And Betances or Banuelos could get a call in the second half. That’s a lot of pitching – enough to get the team to the playoffs.
Hope so. That COL price gonna have to drop for deal to be made.

That’s a HUGE jump from AA to the big leagues.
Won’t see either B this year, IMO. They’re both pitching decent at best.
I’d say it’s another Bubba Crosby smokescreen. I think the Yankees have enough pitching for now (as Nova toils away in AAA), but it couldn’t hurt to add another arm or three.
Rockies’ current demands are way too high.
Yanks must call their bluff and walk away.
Given Jimenez’s contract situation and the fact that you are never out of it in the NL West (the division sucks), why would Colorado trade Jimenez anyway unless he was damaged goods?
The only way would be if someone overpays wildly for him.
Jimenez will not be traded.
@ SteveF:
I agree. Based on what their asking price is, it doesn’t sound like they are intent on trading him.
Oh, considering how mediocre the AL is, as a whole, Cashman’s assessment that their pitching is enough to make the playoffs seems sound to me.

I think we might see them in September. Wouldn’t hurt to get them some experience in the big leagues so they don’t have a “deer in the head lights” type feel when they come up for good.
