Related, I was there for La Lob, in person, at the Stadium. It was one of those games I will never forget!
I can’t recall whether I watched this game on TV or heard it on the radio, but I remember Rizzuto’s reaction to Horton crawling back to the dugout (Phil thought it very funny). Funny to me how I ever had the belief that Horton struck out swinging, but that’s the way it was for me from that day until reading Jaffe’s article. I wonder how many other things never happened quite the way I remember them.
