E-Núñez

Every time Eduardo makes another error, I think of this story:
When [Larry] Bowa was playing shortstop with the Phillies his main National League rival was Dave Concepcion of the Reds. Before a game against the Reds, Bowa asked Concepcion if he had changed his name to Elmer. When Concepcion replied, “No, why?” Bowa responded with, “Because I keep seeing E-Concepcion in box score.” Concepcion had earned a new nickname.

You think with Nunez’s wheels he might better project to be an OF in the near future for the Yankees (or some other team)?
Most of his issues have been throwing…
And, that has moved some off SS…like Mantle and Murcer…
But, I’m not sure his bat is OF material.

I don’t think it is. He needs to work on his fielding, because supersub will probably be the best that he can do.
He hits well enough, right now to hold a job as a regular shortstop or second baseman. He needs to work on his footwork, timing and sense of play, because most of his errors are on rushed throws. Yanks need to work his defense hard over the winter, maybe bring in a coach to break him down and build him back up. What’s Ozzie Smith doing these days?
