Despite all the time out, A-rod has a RCAA similar to Tex and Cano…
Kind of surprised Swisher is as high as he is, I know he’s hit well since June 11 but I didn’t realize it would bring his stock that far up.
Curtis Granderson and Nick Swisher are 3rd and 4th on the Yanks in runs above average. Imagine that.
Hughes is the 2nd biggest drain; no surprise there, given the way he’s pitched. But Jeter is the biggest, and nearly all of that is in fielding, and Posada is the 3rd biggest.

He’s now hitting .270 after a dreadful start. His OPS is well over .800 after last night.
Among 59 regular major league outfielders (BAVG qualifiers, I think), Granderson is 7th, Gardner is 14th, and Swisher is 19th in fWAR.
Among 30 AL regular outfielders, Granderson is 4th, Gardner is 6th, and Swisher is 8th.
Gardner is 2nd in LF (to Alex Gordon), Granderson is 2nd in CF (to Ellsbury), and Swisher is 3rd in RF (deceptive; he’s way behind Bautista and Zobrist, and slighty ahead of everyone else).

Re: Swisher
What you have to watch out for is the big slump following the long streak. Back in late May, when he was still hitting .204, with only 2 HR, 19 RBI and a SLG under .300, I speculated that he might be in rapid decline, because he had old player’s skills. I was wrong. It was just another long slump, 43 games worth.
His hot streak (.317/.425/.565, with 11 HR and 40 RBI in 54 games) has now gone on for over 2 months. He might be due to cool off. Or not. He’s very streaky; always has been with the Yanks.

I don’t know, since seeing Nunez out there, I’ve come to really appreciate the steady defense of Jeter.
Looks like Jorge is starting to come around a bit (again). Let’s hope he can keep it going this time.
