Let’s Play Two?

Is there a difference between starting a game at 11 PM…and having it end at 2 AM…and then playing another game 11 hours later, and, playing a traditional double-header on one day? I would have to think the former is just as taxing as the latter.
Why MLB made the Yankees play last night – and screw their fans – makes little sense, no?

I think the Yanks wanted to get the game in too because they didn’t want another double header.
I thought todays game was in Baltimore?

Today is NY.
Tomorrow is Baltimore.

I heard Phil Hughes say that too – that he was glad they didn’t have to play a DH.
Well if they had to play a DH today it would have had to be a single admission – with travel and a day game tomorrow, it would have been as senseless to have a night game end at 10:30 with a 1 PM start tomorrow.
@ Steve L.:
This from Yankees president Randy Levine: “The decision to play Tuesday night’s game vs. Baltimore was a collaborative effort between Major League Baseball and the New York Yankees. Every possible effort was made to play the game because there were no suitable alternative dates on which to play a rescheduled game given the poor weather forecast for Wednesday. We certainly recognize the inconvenience to our fans and have invited them back to enjoy a future game at Yankee Stadium.”
Waldman kept going on and on about how it was MLB’s decision.
It’s tough but understandable given the possibility that today’s game could’ve been rained out. Also the prospect of playing a doubleheader in Baltimore with a trip to the west coast immediately after may have pushed MLB’s and the Yankees’ hand.
