Yankees Triple-A Team To Be Road Warriors In 2012

Scranton playing its home games in SIX different stadiums in 2012. Rochester, Batavia, Syracuse, Allentown, Buffalo and Pawtucket are Scranton’s home sites in 2012. Crazyness.
What a nightmare for the players in terms of housing. Triple-A is supposed to be one step from the big leagues…not like being treated as if you were the worst team in an Independent League.

Not only will that suck for the players — some of whom are our very best prospects — but it sucks for the organization that has to manage those players and figure out ways to get them from Point A to Point B. It’ll be a logistical nightmare for everyone involved.
Pity that the Mets couldn’t get comfortable with a one-year layover in Newark. The idiotic thing about it is that they’re willing to let the Yanks play out of Buffalo (their Triple-A affiliate) but not willing to let them pay a fee to play closer to home in NYC. Wouldn’t money be more valuable than one year of waived territorial rights?
Why don’t they play some of their games at Yankee Stadium when the Yankees are on the road?@ MJ Recanati:
I’m more puzzled that this is the best solution they could come up with. I mean, really?
Why can they play @ Batavia, but they can’t play @ SI?
Why not take the Buffalo offer? Or Ottawa? (Lynx Stadium is still used, but not by the IL) Or Montreal?
I wonder if there is more to this than meets the eye, nothing really makes sense.
