He had already warmed once, hadn’t pitched since Tuesday and needed a little work. He only threw 3 pitches, so as long as he doesn’t throw 30 trying to wrap up the game later this afternoon, he’ll be good for either game 3 or game 4. Or: they can use both Robertson and Soriano for games 2 and 3, and give Mo one of those games off, and have him ready for game 4. Or: they can use one of the other two with Mo in game 2, use that one with the third guy in game 3 and have 2 of the three ready for game 4. You get the idea.
As for game 2, yes, it’s important. But if they lose it, they have to split in Detroit to get it back home for Fister vs. Nova for game 5.
