On December 11, 2008, the San Diego Padres claimed Ivan Nova from the New York Yankees in the Rule 5 Draft. He was then returned to the Yankees on March 29, 2009.
Just imagine how the Yankees 2011 season, and tonight, would have been if the Padres had not returned him…
Bad news?
Among FB-heavy SP (50%+ usage) Ivan Nova’s 4-seamer is on the bottom rung of the ladder & clinging for dear life. Lacks arsenal depth, too.
