Yankees general manager Brian Cashman and owner Hal Steinbrenner met in New York yesterday. In an indication they believe a new deal for Cashman to remain the GM can be reached before Oct. 31, Cashman and Steinbrenner talked about the Yankees.
Cashman, whose three-year deal runs out at the end of the month, will travel to Tampa to chair organization meetings that begin tomorrow.
Oh, just, shoot me now…

then stop posting, already.. jeez. it seems like you’re trying to make the story of you leaving waswatching.com just as big as the re-signing of cashman. guess what, it’s not.
i think we’re all tired of reading about you staying or leaving. make a decision already. enough of the drama.
Only 6 more days to go…unless the Yankees surprise me.
In the interim, you can feel free to stop reading me. No one is forcing you to visit this site.
Steve, I can imagine it’s jerks like that that make you wonder why you bother. I’m glad you have and wish you would reconsider.
@ redbug:
Thanks. It’s OK. Seven seasons is long enough. No regrets here. I wish that there was going to be something new and exciting in Yankeeland. That would keep me going. But, with Cashman staying on – along with Hal, Levine, and Trost, it’s just going to be the same ol’ story.
I know for a fact that I’m not the only reader who feels this way. Steve’s constant drama about leaving, i.e. “this is too much for me,” ” I don’t like Brian Cashman,” “blah blah blah,” takes away from the site and makes it look he’s bigger than the blog itself. The writing on this site is exceptional; I check in at least twice a day. I’m just sick of Steve constantly talking about why he needs to leave. Enough already, just do it! Can we just move on and stick to the Yankees?
I mean, the guy posted a poll asking readers feel about him. Pathetic!
