Hard to believe someone with a .978 OPS and 61k/96bb, would miss. Did the player miss like Joe Charboneau/bob hamlin (early success, fizzle out) or miss like brien taylor(never made it to the big leagues)?
He made to the major leagues and still wears a uniform.
@ Steve L.:
BJ Upton or Delmon Young? Both were young for AAA but still tore it up down there. Those are my guesses.
Nope.
Hint: Think March 20, 1978.
Clint Hurdle. I wouldn’t exactly say he missed. Just wasn’t the superstar we all expected. Sort of like our own Mike Hegan.

I wasn’t quite three years old yet so I never would’ve gotten this one…
@ Jim TreshFan:
Bingo: Clint Hurdle it is!
I knew you would get this one!
FYI, the 3/20/78 date was when he was on the cover of SI with “Phenom!”
