Bold Yankees-Related Prediction

When you wake up on the morning of June 25th and look at the Yankees won-loss record, New York will be 36-35 (at best, and maybe worse).
Yes, I am saying that, 71 games into this season, the Yankees will be just about a .500 team.
Don’t think so? Look at the Yankees next 28 games. And, tell me where they are going to get more than 14 wins on that schedule given the way the team has played so far this year.

Bold WasWatching Prediction:
Steve will continue to be a glass half empty guy when it comes to the Yanks. We will see the “If you take away games against X,Y,Z then the Yankees record is…” posts. We will see anti-Hughes posts when he resumes sucking. We will see A-Rod off the field posts.
The operative phrase in the post is: “given the way the team has played so far this year”.
If the Yanks are to win more than 14 of the next 28, they will do so by…playing better than they have so far.
It’s a long season. We’ll see if the O’s can keep up having the AL’s best record, if the Indians can maintain their hold on first place, and if Albert Pujols can improve on his .213/.254/.333 line.

If you had June 10th in your pool, you won.
OK, so, the Yankees will have to go 2-10 over their next 12 games for my prediction to come true.
And, that’s not going to happen.
But, it would not shock me if they went 5-7 over those 12 games.
And, that would put them at 39-32. Just three games better than I predicted.
